Frederick Perry Stanton

Frederick Perry Stanton (December 22, 1814 – June 4, 1894) was a member of the United States House of Representatives for Tennessee's 10th congressional district and an interim governor of territorial Kansas.
==Biography==
Stanton was born in Alexandria, Virginia on December 22, 1814son of Richard and Harriet (Perry) Stanton, and brother of Richard Henry Stanton (1812-1891). He pursued classical studies and graduated from Columbian College, now named George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. in 1833. He taught school in Virginia, and was an instructor in North Carolina. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and commenced practice in Memphis, Tennessee. He married Jane Harriet Somers Lanphier.
